When asked to research Postmodernism i went to Wikipedia this is what a found :
Postmodernist film describes the articulation of ideas of postmodernism through the cinematic medium. Postmodernist film upsets the mainstream conventions of narrative structure and characterization and destroys (or, at least, toys with) the audience's suspension of disbelief to create a work in which a less-recognizable internal logic forms the film's means of expression.
After reading it i had less of an understanding of it as i did before... When i thought of the 'Postmodernism' i broke the word down and thought it related to an era or movement in film known as a a 'Modernism' and the 'Post' meant the way the film movement went after abit like in art where you have the Impressionism and Post-Impressionism movement. However after talking about it in class ive gatherd this isnt exactly true. So when we spoke in class i got a better understanding of the meaning and my interpretation is that Postmoderism is that there isnt a reality as such and you make it want you want it to be, it shows that the media has influenced us and that we do not now know what is 'real' and that we now have no 'new/original' idea's everything is recycled from the past.
